In the direct effects model, child diagnosis has a significant direct effect on family health/well-being and child participation.

In the indirect effects model, the direct effect of child diagnosis status is no longer significant or no longer has a meaningful effect when child functional characteristics are added, but an indirect effect is mediated through child functional characteristics.
