0s value rounded to 0 (zero) where there is a meaningful distinction between true zero and the value that was rounded x suppressed to meet the confidentiality requirements of the Statistics Act E use with caution F too unreliable to be published Notes: The participation rate is based on a monthly average from September to April and includes full-time and part-time attendance. 'Other' types of education from the Labour Force Survey (LFS) are not included in the three types of schools: primary or secondary school; community college, junior college or CEGEP; and university, and are excluded from the numerators for the totals. The elimination of Grade 13 (Ontario Academic Credits (OAC)) in Ontario after 2002/2003 may have affected participation rates at certain ages. LFS estimates for Canada are derived using results from the provinces; the territories are excluded. Figures may not add up to totals because of rounding. Some cells may show small revisions compared with past PCEIP tables due to minor differences in table production. Caution should be exercised in interpreting the provincial ratios and differences in ratios between provinces and over time, as small estimates may present fairly high sampling variability. Estimates for small geographic areas, for small age-groups or for cross-classified variables will be associated with larger variability. For a brief description of this indicator, including the methodology, please see the Handbook for the Pan-Canadian Education Indicators Program.
