1. The first cycle of the longitudinal Youth in Transition Survey (YITS) sampled a nationally representative group of 18- to 20-year-olds in 1999. The 24- to 26-year-olds who responded to YITS Cycle 4 six years later represent the original population sampled, but are not representative of all 24- to 26-year-olds in individual provinces or in Canadian provinces as a whole in 2005. This table also excludes a small number of respondents who were still taking high school credits in December 2005. For more information on YITS, see the PCEIP 2007 Handbook, Chapter E1 (Statistics Canada and Council of Ministers of Education, Canada. 2007. Education indicators in Canada: Handbook for the Report of the Pan-Canadian Education Indicators Program. Catalogue no. 81-582-XIE. Ottawa.).
2. Province of interview in 2005.
