Notes: The Pan-Canadian Assessment Programme (PCAP) is a cyclical program of assessments of the achievement of 13-year-old students in reading, mathematics, and science, conducted by the Council of Ministers of Education, Canada (CMEC). The first PCAP assessment took place in 2007 and had reading as its major domain of assessment. Mathematics and science were also assessed in 2007, however they received a minor focus. In future assessments, the emphasis on each subject will change. PCAP replaces CMEC's School Achievement Indicators Program (SAIP).
The term "below the Canada French mean score" refers to statistically significant differences between the results of jurisdictions and the results at the Canada level.
The Canada mean score is a weighted jurisdictional average.
The results obtained from students educated in the French system of their respective jurisdiction are reported as French. In most jurisdictions, the results achieved by French immersion students who wrote in French are calculated as part of the English results. However, only in Manitoba, the results achieved by French immersion students are calculated as part of the French results.
The Northwest Territories and Nunavut did not participate in PCAP 2007.
