How to use
How to use this interactive visual
This interactive dashboard is separated into four sections: Financing education systems, Elementary-secondary education, Postsecondary education, and Transitions and outcomes. Users can navigate to these sections from the hamburger menu icon at the top of the page.
For the “Financing education systems” section, users can see expenditure per student in Canadian dollars, by geography and level of education.
The “Elementary-secondary education” section is divided into two pages: teachers’ salaries and high school graduation rates. Teachers’ salaries can be compared by geography and experience level. High school graduation rates can be selected by year, and then compared by geography, gender and on-time or extended-time graduation rate.
For the “Postsecondary education” section, users can first select a year, then compare funds for higher education expenditures on research and development (R&D) by geography and sources of funds, as well as higher education R&D expenditure by geography and performing sector.
For the “Transitions and outcomes” section, rates of youth not in employment, education or training (NEET) can be selected by year, and then compared by age group, gender, and labour force and education status.
