This interactive map provides access to current and historical data on new zero-emission vehicle registrations. It allows the user to compare and analyze new zero-emission vehicle registrations data by geography.
This web application is updated quarterly.
Definitions
- ZEV
- Zero-emission vehicles are battery electric vehicles (BEV) or plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEV) that have the potential to produce no tailpipe emissions.
- BEV
- Battery electric vehicles are vehicles powered solely by a rechargeable battery pack and produce zero tailpipe emissions.
- PHEV
- Plug-in hybrid electric vehicles are vehicles with a rechargeable battery pack and an internal combustion engine. They run on electric power until the battery is drained and then the internal combustion engine takes over for propulsion.
Notes
Data for Newfoundland and Labrador, Alberta, and census sub-division levels of Quebec are currently not available due to contractual limitations of the existing data sharing agreement, however, they are included in the Canada total.
