Additional information

This dashboard presents selected indicators from the Canadian Health Measures Survey (CHMS), allowing users to explore results by age group, sex, and survey cycle.

The CHMS combines household interviews with direct physical measurements collected at temporary examination centres. The survey provides nationally representative health information for the household population aged 3 to 79 living in the 10 provinces, excluding people living on reserves and other Indigenous settlements, residents of institutions, full-time members of the Canadian Armed Forces, and people living in certain remote regions.

Some values in the dashboard are rounded to improve readability, with more precise values available in the accompanying data tables.

For more information about the CHMS, including the survey methodology, target population, sampling design and data quality, please consult the CHMS survey description: Surveys and statistical programs - Canadian Health Measures Survey (CHMS).
