Second quarter 2011

  1. Canada's overall current account deficit (on a seasonally adjusted basis) widened by $5.3 billion to reach $15.3 billion in the second quarter. Non-residents continued to supply funds to the Canadian economy, largely through purchases of Canadian debt securities.
