This is to advise you of the renewed validity of Post Indexes calculated for the purpose of the Post Living Allowance applicable to Canadian Government expatriate personnel or persons under contract.

The Guide to the Post Index, which was revised in June 2010, remains available.

The analysis of Post Index surveys has been completed for the following locations. The results incorporate the analysis of costs for goods and services purchased in the local economy and from import sources at the time the surveys were carried out, adjusted based on continuing monthly reviews.

Other Post Index adjustments are based on our continuing monthly reviews. These adjustments are based on shifts in the value of the respective currencies used at the post relative to the Canadian dollar. Comparative changes in consumer prices at posts and in Ottawa since the last survey at either location are also taken into account.
