There were 538,272 aircraft take-offs and landings at the 93 Canadian airports with NAV CANADA air traffic control towers and flight service stations in May 2012 compared with 511,184 movements in May 2011.

Itinerant movements (flights from one airport to another) increased 5.3% (+19,039 movements) in May 2012 from the same month the previous year. These airports reported 378,331 movements compared with 359,292 movements in May 2011.

In May 2012, there were 159,941 local movements (flights that remain in the vicinity of the airport) recorded. This represents an increase of 5.3% (+8,049 movements) compared with the previous year.
