There were 461,954 aircraft take-offs and landings at the 93 Canadian airports with NAV CANADA air traffic control towers and flight service stations in April 2012 compared with 463,684 movements in April 2011.

Itinerant movements (flights from one airport to another) increased 1.7% (+5,404 movements) in April 2012 from the same month the previous year. These airports reported 323,501 movements compared with 318,097 movements in April 2011.

In April 2012, there were 138,453 local movements (flights that remain in the vicinity of the airport) recorded. This represents a decrease of 4.9% (-7,134 movements) compared with the previous year.
