There were 456,313 aircraft take-offs and landings at the 93 Canadian airports with NAV CANADA air traffic control towers and flight service stations in March 2012 compared with 452,257 movements in March 2011.

Itinerant movements (flights from one airport to another) increased 1.6% (+5,016 movements) in March 2012 from the same month the previous year. These airports reported 322,508 movements compared with 317,492 movements in March 2011.

In March 2012, there were 133,805 local movements (flights that remain in the vicinity of the airport) recorded. This represents a decrease of 0.7% (-960 movements) compared with the previous year.
