There were 364,649 aircraft take-offs and landings at the 93 Canadian airports with NAV CANADA air traffic control towers and flight service stations in December 2011 compared with 343,916 movements in December 2010.

Itinerant movements (flights from one airport to another) increased 5.5% (+14,436 movements) in December 2011 from the same month the previous year. These airports reported 278,641 movements compared with 264,205 movements in December 2010.

In December 2011, there were 86,008 local movements (flights that remain in the vicinity of the airport) recorded. This represents an increase of 7.9% (+6,297 movements) compared with the previous year.
