  1. Aircraft take-offs and landings at the 93 Canadian airports with NAV CANADA air traffic control towers and flight service stations decreased 5.6% in May 2011 from May 2010. These airports reported 509,506 movements in May compared with 539,578 movements in May 2010.
  2. There were 358,606 itinerant movements (flights from one airport to another) reported in May 2011. This represents a 4.7% decrease (-17,589 movements) compared with the same month a year earlier.
  3. In May 2011, there were 150,900 local movements (flights that remain in the vicinity of the airport) recorded. This represents a decrease of 7.6% (-12,483 movements) compared with the previous year.
