Aircraft take-offs and landings at the 93 Canadian airports with NAV CANADA air traffic control towers and flight service stations increased 5.7% in October 2010 from October 2009. These airports reported 501,678 movements in October compared with 474,794 movements in October 2009.

There were 346,855 itinerant movements (flights from one airport to another) reported in October 2010. This represents a 2.1% increase (+7,221 movements) compared with the same month a year earlier.

There were 154,823 local movements (flights that remain in the vicinity of the airport) recorded in October 2010. Calgary/Springbank, Alberta recorded the largest gain, increasing by 2,931 local movements (+50.0%).
