  1. Aircraft take-offs and landings at the 93 Canadian airports with NAV CANADA air traffic control towers and flight service stations increased by 7.5% in December compared with December 2008. These airports reported 357,545 movements in December 2009 compared with 332,693 movements in December 2008.
  2. Itinerant movements (flights from one airport to another) increased 5.1% (+13,250 movements) in December 2009 compared with the same month a year earlier.
  3. Local movements (flights that remain in the vicinity of the airport) increased by 16.0% (+11,602 movements) in December 2009 over the previous year.
