Highlights
- Aircraft take-offs and landings at Canadian airports with NAV CANADA air traffic control towers and flight service stations increased (5.9%) in September 2008 compared with September 2007. These 95 airports reported 590,174 movements in September 2008 compared with 557,040 movements in September 2007.
- Itinerant movements (flights from one airport to another) grew 4.6% (+17,665 movements) in September 2008 compared with the same month a year earlier.
- Local movements (flights that remain in the vicinity of the airport) rose by 9.0% (+15,469 movements) in September 2008 over the previous year.
