    Analysis

In July 2015, take-offs and landings at 124 Canadian airports without air traffic control towers reached a total of 70,603 movements. Three airports, each with more than 3,000 movements, accounted for 21% of the month's activity: Peterborough, Ontario (7,813 movements), Trois-Rivieres, Quebec (3,945) and Goose Bay, Newfoundland and Labrador (3,225).

Year over year comparisons were possible for 122 airports. These airports reported a decrease of 783 (-1.1%) in total aircraft movements from July 2014. The large drop at Peterborough (-1,793 movements) was sufficient to offset an increase at Drummondville, Quebec (+1,385).

During July 2015, there were 50,750 itinerant movements (flights from one airport to another) reported by 105 airports, with Goose Bay (3,225 movements) and Red Lake, Ontario (2,219) recording the greatest number.

Forty-seven airports reported 17,169 local movements (flights that remain in the vicinity of the airport). Peterborough remained the most active site with 7,230 take-offs and landings. Activity at this airport represented 42% of the total local movements reported.
