August 2011

  1. Monthly production of primary steel and pig iron decreased 2.0% in August 2011 to 1,042,885 metric tonnes.
  2. In the same month, the total disposition of shipments of rolled steel products increased 8.0% to 1,047,668 metric tonnes.
  3. Between July 2011 and August 2011, production of steel pipe and tubing increased 10.0% to 185,443 metric tonnes.
  4. Total shipments of steel wire and specified wire products decreased 30.6% to 46,780 metric tonnes in August 2011.
