May 2011

  1. Monthly production of primary steel and pig iron increased 4.2% in May 2011 to 1,217,089 metric tonnes.
  2. In the same month, the total disposition of shipments of rolled steel products increased 3.9% to 1,028,313 metric tonnes.
  3. Between April 2011 and May 2011, production of steel pipe and tubing increased 3.2% to 176,363 metric tonnes.
  4. Total shipments of steel wire and specified wire products increased 1.0% to 51,301 metric tonnes in May 2011.
