- Monthly production of primary steel and pig iron decreased 18.6% in April 2009 to 600,520 metric tonnes.
- In the same month, the total disposition of shipments of rolled steel products decreased 24.7% to 572,566 metric tonnes.
- Between March 2009 and April 2009, production of steel pipe and tubing decreased 37.5% to 114,574 metric tonnes.
- Total shipments of steel wire and specified wire products decreased 4.1% to 36,547 metric tonnes in April 2009.
