May 2008
- Monthly production of primary steel and pig iron increased 4.3% in May 2008 to 1,469,279 metric tonnes.
- In the same month, the total disposition of shipments of rolled steel products fell 9.9% to 1,374,572 metric tonnes.
- Between April 2008 and May 2008, production of steel pipe and tubing declined 1.6% to 214,658 metric tonnes.
- Total shipments of steel wire and specified wire products declined 10.4% to 54,394 metric tonnes in May 2008.
