Highlights

May 2007

  1. Monthly production of primary steel and pig iron decreased 1.4% in May 2007 to 1,315,310 metric tonnes.
  2. In the same month, the total disposition of shipments of rolled steel products grew 4.5% to 1,318,812 metric tonnes.
  3. Between April 2007 and May 2007, production of steel pipe and tubing slipped 0.2% to 224,639 metric tonnes.
  4. Total shipments of steel wire and specified wire products edged up 0.6% to 49,554 metric tonnes in May 2007.
