Highlights

December 2006

  • Monthly production of primary steel and pig iron increased 12.3% to 1,155,326 metric tonnes in December.
  • Between November and December 2006, disposition of rolled steel product shipments fell 26.6% to 904,032 metric tonnes.
  • In December steel pipe and tubing production fell 31.9% to 176,669 metric tonnes.
  • Total shipments of steel wire and specified wire products dropped 20.3% to 30,682 metric tonnes in December.
