Highlights

October 2006

  • Monthly production of primary steel and pig iron decreased by 1.0% to 1,297,808 metric tonnes in October.
  • Between September and October 2006, total dispositions of rolled steel products fell 5.7% to 1,128,252 metric tonnes.
  • In October, steel pipe and tubing production climbed 8.7% to 247,584 metric tonnes.
  • Monthly shipments of steel wire products increased 5.5% to 47,383 metric tonnes in October.
