Stocks of Frozen and Chilled Meats
October 2006

Highlights

Total frozen and chilled red meat in cold storage at the opening of the first business day of October 2006 amounted to 78,657 metric tonnes, down 11% from 88,341 tonnes in July 2006 and down 7% from 84,186 tonnes in October 2005. Stocks of frozen poultry meat in cold storage on October 1^st 2006 totalled 66,250 metric tonnes, up 3% from a year ago.
