Includes revenues collected specifically for waste management purposes by local governments and other public waste management organizations that provided waste management services. They do not include general municipal tax revenues. Revenues from the collection of municipal levies are included in this total; prior to 2008 these revenues were not specifically reported. Comparison of 2008 local government operating revenues with previous years is not recommended.
