Industry definition

This industry comprises establishments primarily engaged in laminating plastic profile shapes, such as plates, sheets and rods. The lamination process generally involves bonding or impregnating profiles with plastics resins and compressing them under heat. This industry also comprises establishments primarily engaged in converting polystyrene resins into foam products, in converting plastics resins, other than polystyrene, into foam products and in blow moulding or casting plastic bottles. Deflators for shipments are weighted averages of price indexes of Principal Commodity Groups (PCG) that are produced by the industry. Weights are PCG values, obtained from annual input-output tables
