Note(s): The sample consists of paid workers with positive weekly wages, living in private households, non-Aboriginal and not in military occupations. The domestic born sample consists of workers aged 25 to 30. The immigrant sample consists of workers aged 25 to 54 and includes only new immigrants (no more than 5 years in the country) who were aged 25 or older at arrival. The year on the x-axis corresponds to the census reference year for Canada but the census (or ACS) year for the U.S.
