In 2020, racialized individuals were less likely than non-racialized individuals to have income from multiple sources after the age of 65.

Within the racialized populations aged 65 and over, median total income varied from one group to another, ranging from $21,800 for Korean individuals to $38,800 for Japanese individuals.Note 2

Among all racialized individuals aged 65 and over, Japanese individuals were most likely to have private retirement income (74%) and investment income (67%).

Overall, 26% of racialized individuals aged 65 and over had employment income. Filipino individuals (34%) were most likely to have employment income after the age of 65, while Chinese individuals (21%) were least likely.
