Feelings of personal control are highest for people in their twenties
The chart shows 14 vertical bars each representing a 5 year age group beginning with age 15 to 19 up to age 80 or more. The trend is that a person's sense of mastery is highest during the twenties, score of 19.6 on the 28 point scale; remains high until age 40 to 44, mastery score of 19.2; and then begins a gradual decline to the oldest age group, score of 16.4.
