On July 13, 2022, Statistics Canada will be releasing the third set of results from the 2021 Census of Population.

This release presents a portrait of Canada’s families and households as well as the income profile of Canadians. For the first time in its history, the 2021 Census will also include data on Canadian military experience across the country. The census webinar will provide you with an overview of key results, including: marital status and family structure, with – for the first time ever – data on the gender diversity of couples; a new question on current and past military service in the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF); income concepts and definitions; results, how to access data products and resources online and more.

Following the presentation, Statistics Canada officials will be available to answer questions.

The current study sought to describe the psychometric properties of a brief measure of combat exposure among Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) personnel. Data from post-deployment screening were used to examine the utility of the 8-item Combat Experience Scale (CES-8) as a potential alternative to the 30-item scale (CES-30) in the contexts of both screening and survey research.

They are comparative measurements that numerically express the difference between the retail prices of a representative basket of goods and services at a foreign location with prices for a similar basket of goods and services in Ottawa. They reflect the circumstances for personnel who may have access to stores or sources of supply that are not available to the general public. These personnel also may have access to certain goods and services that are free of duties or taxes or may be provided with supplies or allowances by the Department of National Defence or the United Nations. The indexes in this listing are not appropriate for use by non-military personnel.
