Using data from the 2018 Canadian Housing Survey, this study examines the characteristics of Canadians who lived in subsidized housing in 2018 by gender. Data are available for Canada, geographical regions of Canada, province or territory and census metropolitan area. This data visualization tool is part of a broader conceptual framework on social inclusion and covers a total of 11 themes. Using data from the Canadian Housing Survey, this project aimed to construct a measure of social inclusion, using indicators identified by the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC), to report a social inclusion score for each geographic stratum separately for dwellings that are and are not in social and affordable housing. This project also sought to examine associations between social inclusion and a set of economic, social and health variables.
