This guide is intended to help data users understand the concepts and methods used in the 2006 Aboriginal Peoples Survey (APS), which was conducted from October 2006 to March 2007.
Technical details on sampling, processing and data quality are included in this guide. Further, the guide explains the relationship between the APS and the 2006 Census and cautions users as to important differences in the data produced from these two sources. Appendix 1 provides a list of communities for which data are available while Appendix 2 contains a glossary of terms that relate to the APS. Answers to some frequently asked questions are provided in Appendix 3. Links to the 2006 APS questionnaires are found in Appendix 4.

The papers in this series are based on the Annual Survey of Manufactures (ASM) and focus on the entire manufacturing sector (all 22 major manufacturing groups). Other data sources are used in specific papers. The topics covered include packaging products used by manufacturing industries, evolution of production costs, comparison of establishment groups (ranked by volume of shipments) and stages of processing.

This series of reports provides detailed statistics and analysis on a variety of topics and issues concerning Canada's justice system. The Juristat, Case Processing in Criminal Courts, 1999/00, summarizes trends from provincial/territorial courts across Canada, which provided data to the Adult Criminal Court Survey (ACCS), and the Youth Court Survey (YCS). The primary focus of this Juristat is the nature and extent of case processing time (elapsed time), with emphasis on those factors which have the greatest impact on the length of time it takes a case to be processed in the court system.

In a recent Statistics Canada survey, 77% of Canadian plant managers felt their production technology was as good as their domestic competitors. Against their U.S. counterparts, they were less confident: only 57% of Canadian firms believed their technologies were as good as their American competitors. The survey also reveals that 70% firms used the Internet and 60% had a "home page" on the World Wide Web.
