These estimates are for a pre-pandemic period and do not reflect any impacts of COVID-19. However, they do provide a baseline for analysing changes to the top of the income distribution during the pandemic period, once those data become available.

      This webinar will provide you with an introduction to the Canadian Statistical Geospatial Explorer (CSGE). This interactive mapping tool was designed at Statistics Canada to give users the ability to explore our data, create custom maps and download geo-enabled data into users' own workflows. The CSGE allows users to visualize data at granular levels such as dissemination areas and other geographies like provinces/territories and health regions. The CSGE includes a range of COVID-19 relevant indicators on health, demographic profile and socio-economic conditions of the Canadian population, all derived from Statistics Canada data holdings.

      The webinar covers basic functionalities of the Canadian Statistical Geospatial Explorer such as: finding and exploring data; exporting data in various formats and bringing it into your workflow; customizing maps; and changing base maps (satellite imagery, topography, etc.) to view data in a different context.

      The 2006 Census Dictionary provides detailed information on every aspect of the Census of Population and Census of Agriculture along with an overview of each phase of the census, from content determination to data dissemination with focus on the changes from 2001. As well, it provides detailed definitions of the Census of Population concepts, universes, variables and geographic terms, including historical information to facilitate the comparison of variables between census years.

      New this year in the Internet version is a phased release approach. The continued effort to include supplemental plain language definitions for certain variables, without census or Statistics Canada jargon, will help users better understand the meaning of the definitions and the periodic updates.
