This interactive dashboard provides access to current and historical data for the new condominium apartment price indexes, for the census metropolitan areas (CMAs) of Halifax, Quebéc City, Montréal, Ottawa-Gatineau (Ontario part), Toronto, Calgary, Edmonton, Vancouver, Victoria as well as a composite of these nine CMAs, in a dynamic and customizable format. It allows users to view the index series, quarter-over-quarter percent changes, year-over-year percent changes, as well as the largest increases and decreases for the current period. Additionally, users can view the weight of each CMA in the nine CMA composite measured in percentage.

The Canadian Labour Force Survey (LFS) is the official source of monthly estimates of total employment and unemployment. Following the 2011 census, the LFS underwent a sample redesign to account for the evolution of the population and labour market characteristics, to adjust to changes in the information needs and to update the geographical information used to carry out the survey. The redesign program following the 2011 census culminated with the introduction of a new sample at the beginning of 2015. This report is a reference on the methodological aspects of the LFS, covering stratification, sampling, collection, processing, weighting, estimation, variance estimation and data quality.

Such information will make it possible to analyse asset holdings over the life cycle, as well as to look at the financial vulnerability and future consumption capabilities of Canadians.

This report identifies some problematic and complex issues related to the evaluation of owner-occupied dwellings (principal residence) and examines several possible approaches to valuing these dwellings. The following information about the dwelling is considered in suggesting possible valuation methods: insured value, assessed value, dwelling characteristics, and purchase price and year of purchase. An optimal method to produce an objective value for a dwelling is also suggested and methods for deriving the value of principal residences located on farms are discussed as well.

This annual publication includes detailed analysis and charts depicting construction activity over the last decade. The tables are comparable to those in the monthly publication 64-001-XPB Building permits. In addition, the annual publication includes revised monthly data, on a seasonally adjusted basis, for the previous three years.
