Description: These geographic files represent the census metropolitan area (CMA) and the census agglomeration (CA) boundaries used for the dissemination of the Census of Population data.

Two files are available: the "Census Metropolitan Area and Census Agglomeration Boundary File" and the "Census Metropolitan Area and Census Agglomeration Boundary File: Parts".

The "Census Metropolitan Area and Census Agglomeration Boundary File" contains all CMAs and CAs, whereas the "Census Metropolitan Area and Census Agglomeration Boundary File: Parts" contains only the provincial portions of CMAs and CAs that cross a provincial boundary.

A reference guide is available (Boundary Files, Reference Guide, 92-160-G).
