Investment in non-residential construction for Canada increased 0.2% in May compared with April. Newfoundland and Labrador was up 0.4%, Prince Edward Island was up 0.2%, Nova Scotia was down 1.6%, New Brunswick was down 0.3%, Quebec was down 0.0%, Ontario was up 0.5%, Manitoba was down 1.3%, Saskatchewan was down 0.7%, Alberta was up 0.7%, British Columbia was up 0.1%, Yukon was down 1.5%, the Northwest Territories was down 1.3% and Nunavut was up 0.9%.

Total investment for Canada was $7,143.2 million, total investment for Newfoundland and Labrador was $24.1 million, total investment for Prince Edward Island was $18.7 million, total investment for Nova Scotia was $134.0 million, total investment for New Brunswick was $114.0 million, total investment for Quebec was $1,216.8 million, total investment for Ontario was $2,972.0 million, total investment for Manitoba was $229.9 million, total investment for Saskatchewan was $194.8 million, total investment for Alberta was $1,047.7 million, total investment for British Columbia was $1,143.2 million, total investment for Yukon was $28.2 million, total investment for the Northwest Territories was $4.8 million and total investment for Nunavut was $15.0 million.

Institutional: Market share was 30.1% and total investment totalled $2,152.3 million, representing a year-over-year increase of 1.9% or $39.6 million.
