This is a map of Canada by province and territory, showing the month-to-month percentage changes for investment in residential building construction. Green arrows pointing upward represent an increase, while red arrows pointing downward represent a decrease.
Investment in residential construction for Canada increased 3.1% in April compared with March. Newfoundland and Labrador was down 19.5%, Prince Edward Island was down 8.3%, Nova Scotia was down 1.5%, New Brunswick was down 2.6%, Quebec was up 5.9%, Ontario was up 3.5%, Manitoba was up 6.3%, Saskatchewan was down 6.1%, Alberta was down 7.3%, British Columbia was up 8.5%, Yukon was up 68.3%, the Northwest Territories was down 29.7% and Nunavut was down 3.4%.

Total investment for Canada was $16,475.4 million, total investment for Newfoundland and Labrador was $159.9 million, total investment for Prince Edward Island was $52.5 million, total investment for Nova Scotia was $416.7 million, total investment for New Brunswick was $350.2 million, total investment for Quebec was $4,408.2 million, total investment for Ontario was $5,470.2 million, total investment for Manitoba was $753.5 million, total investment for Saskatchewan was $354.2 million, total investment for Alberta was $1,720.3 million, total investment for British Columbia was $2,646.7 million, total investment for Yukon was $75.0 million, total investment for the Northwest Territories was $7.0 million and total investment for Nunavut was $61.1 million.

Single homes: Market share was 25.6% and total investment totalled $1,736.8 million, representing a year-over-year decrease of 10.3% or $199.6 million.
Semi-detached homes: Market share was 2.7% and total investment totalled $186.1 million, representing a year-over-year decrease of 11.0% or $23.1 million.
Row homes: Market share was 11.3% and total investment totalled $768.9 million, representing a year-over-year increase of 10.3% or $71.6 million.
Condo and rental apartments: Market share was 60.3% and total investment totalled $4,085.4 million, representing a year-over-year increase of 0.7% or $28.7 million.
