Investment in non-residential construction for Canada increased 0.6% in March compared with February. Newfoundland and Labrador was down 4.7%, Prince Edward Island was down 5.0%, Nova Scotia was down 1.0%, New Brunswick was up 0.5%, Quebec was down 1.3%, Ontario was down 0.5%, Manitoba was down 1.3%, Saskatchewan was up 1.1%, Alberta was up 1.7%, British Columbia was up 5.2%, Yukon was up 4.2%, the Northwest Territories was up 9.4% and Nunavut was down 4.3%.

Total investment for Canada was $7,039.5 million, total investment for Newfoundland and Labrador was $23.3 million, total investment for Prince Edward Island was $18.9 million, total investment for Nova Scotia was $136.8 million, total investment for New Brunswick was $118.5 million, total investment for Quebec was $1,173.6 million, total investment for Ontario was $2,928.7 million, total investment for Manitoba was $226.6 million, total investment for Saskatchewan was $199.1 million, total investment for Alberta was $1,021.6 million, total investment for British Columbia was $1,155.6 million, total investment for Yukon was $22.8 million, total investment for the Northwest Territories was $5.1 million and total investment for Nunavut was $8.9 million.

Industrial: Market share was 18.9% and total investment totalled $1,333.9 million, representing a year-over-year decrease of 7.7% or $111.6 million.

Institutional: Market share was 30.5% and total investment totalled $2,145.9 million, representing a year-over-year increase of 5.9% or $120.5 million.
