Note(s):
In 2020/2021, the Survey of Residential Facilities for Victims of Abuse was updated to collect resident information for women, men, adults of another gender, accompanying girls, accompanying boys, and accompanying children of another gender. Women residing in the facilities include transgender adults identifying as female. The April 30, 2025 reference period reflects the survey snapshot day, a predetermined business day meant to represent a typical day of operations for facilities across Canada. The sum of the percentages may not equal 100% due to rounding. Reasons of abuse can include, for example, having experienced physical, sexual, financial, emotional or psychological abuse, or harassment, among others.
