Municipal operating costs: Water, waste, recreation and culture, 2020 to 2023

Statistics Canada is releasing experimental estimates of municipal operating expenses for select functions of government, including water supply, wastewater management, waste management, and cultural and recreational services.
The data cover 216 municipalities and regional governments and span the years 2020 to 2023.
Note to readers
These experimental estimates integrate information from provincial or territorial Departments of Municipal Affairs, financial information returns, annual reports and financial statements. Imputations were applied where necessary to address data gaps. Imputed values are identified in the available dataset.
