Monthly Survey of Manufacturing: Advance indicator, September 2025

Statistics Canada is providing an advance estimate of sales in the manufacturing sector for September. Advance results indicate that total manufacturing sales increased 2.8% in September. The largest increases were in the transportation equipment and petroleum and coal subsectors.
This estimate was calculated based on a weighted response rate of 67.7%. The average final response rate for the survey over the previous 12 months has been 92.9%. As Statistics Canada continues to collect data for the September reference month, this early indicator is subject to a higher revision rate than our regular monthly release.

This advance estimate is a special product published to provide Canadians with timely information on the manufacturing sector. The official estimate of manufacturing sales for the month of September, which will be based on a more complete set of survey and administrative data, is scheduled for release on November 14, 2025.
