Investment in residential construction for Canada increased 0.1% in August compared to July 2025. Newfoundland and Labrador was down 2.3%, Prince Edward Island was down 12.4%, Nova Scotia was down 2.0%, New Brunswick was up 7.3%, Quebec was down 0.7%, Ontario was down 0.8%, Manitoba was up 10.1%, Saskatchewan was up 9.4%, Alberta was down 2.4%, British Columbia was up 1.5%, Yukon was up 137.5%, Northwest Territories was down 70.8%, Nunavut was up 5.7%.

Total investment for Canada was $16,038.7 million, total investment for Newfoundland and Labrador was $91.8 million, total investment for Prince Edward Island was $70.4 million, total investment for Nova Scotia was $454.5 million, total investment for New Brunswick was $285.4 million, total investment for Quebec was $3,811.4 million, total investment for Ontario was $5,743.5 million, total investment for Manitoba was $629.6 million, total investment for Saskatchewan was $368.2 million, total investment for Alberta was $1,893.8 million, total investment for British Columbia was $2,604.1 million, total investment for Yukon was $9.1 million, total investment for Northwest Territories was $2.3 million, total investment for Nunavut was $74.5 million.

Single homes: Market share was 33.7%, total investment totalled $2,831.7 million, representing a year-over-year increase of 3.4% or $93.6 million.
Semi-detached homes: Market share was 3.1%, total investment totalled $256.8 million, representing a year-over-year increase of 7.9% or $18.9 million.
Row homes: Market share was 9.0%, total investment totalled $761.2 million, representing a year-over-year decrease of 8.2% or $68.0 million.
Condos and rental apartments: Market share was 54.3%, total investment totalled $4,565.0 million, representing a year-over-year increase of 11.5% or $472.2 million.
