Note to readers
Statistics Canada's Census of Environment program delivers information on the relationship between ecosystems, the economy, society and human well-being.
The article released today is based on experimental estimates of fixed grid square-based gross domestic product for 2021, aggregated at the sub-drainage area level of the Standard Drainage Area Classification (SDAC). The SDAC was developed to enable the production of integrated statistics by hydrographic areas. The analysis is focused on industries such as oil and gas, mining, electricity generation, agriculture, forestry, sight-seeing transportation, and accommodation and restaurants.
For more information about mapping production activity by grid-square, see "Mapping Production Activity in Yukon: Experimental Indexes of Grid Square-based Gross Domestic Product" in Analytical Studies: Methods and References (11-633-X).
