This is a map of Canada by province and territory that shows the month-to-month percentage changes of the total building permits value. Green arrows represent an increase, while red arrows represent a decrease.
In June, building permit values in Canada were down 9.0% compared with May. Newfoundland and Labrador was down 16.7%, Prince Edward Island was down 25.0%, Nova Scotia was up 4.6%, New Brunswick was up 6.6%, Quebec was down 5.8%, Ontario was down 18.0%, Manitoba was up 16.0%, Saskatchewan was up 13.4%, Alberta was up 27.7%, British Columbia was down 24.9%, Yukon was down 45.3%, Northwest Territories were down 100.0%E (use with caution) and Nunavut was down 86.3%.

Residential: The total value was down 4.3% month over month.
Non-residential: The total value was down 15.0% month over month.
Single-family dwellings: the total value was $2,443 million, representing a month-over-month decrease of 6.6% or $173.5 million.
Multi-family dwellings: the total value was $4,617 million, representing a month-over-month decrease of 3.0% or $144.5 million.
Industrial: the total value was $1,077 million, representing a month-over-month increase of 21.8% or $192.7 million.
Commercial: the total value was $2,140 million, representing a month-over-month decrease of 3.9% or $87.4 million.
Institutional: the total value was $1,673 million, representing a month-over-month decrease of 36.7% or $969.1 million.
