New interactive visualization tool on geographic mobility of Canadian graduates with a bachelor's degree, 2012 to 2021

Released: 2025-07-16

Today, Statistics Canada is releasing a new visualization tool, entitled ''Geographic mobility of Canadian graduates with a bachelor's degree: Interactive visualization tool,'' which highlights the geographic mobility of Canadian graduates with a bachelor's degree. This interactive tool shows, for each province of study, where graduates come from and where they go one year after graduation.

Understanding the mobility patterns of students and graduates between provinces and territories is important, as it impacts investments needed in postsecondary education and related public services, influences the composition of the student population, affects tuition-based funding, and has implications for the availability of skilled workers in each province and territory.

The data used in this tool are derived from the Postsecondary Student Information System integrated with the T1 Family File (table 37-10-0289).
