Infographic description

The title of the infographic is "Export dependency on the United States: Spotlight on the transportation equipment manufacturing subsector (share of value-added by industry attributed to direct exports and indirect exports to the United States), 2023"

This is a stacked bar graph showing the share of value-added attributed to direct and indirect exports to the United States by transportation equipment manufacturing industries. Percentages can be read along the x-axis, within the bar segments, and adjacent to the bars (for the total). The light blue segment shows the share of value-added attributed to direct exports to the United States and the dark blue segment shows the share of value-added attributed to indirect exports to the United States.

For motor vehicle manufacturing, 82% of value-added is attributed to direct exports and 0% of value-added is attributed to indirect exports for a total of 82%.

For motor vehicle parts manufacturing, 53% of value-added is attributed to direct exports and 24% of value-added is attributed to indirect exports for a total of 77%.

For aerospace product and parts manufacturing, 51% of value-added is attributed to direct exports and 3% of value-added is attributed to indirect exports for a total of 55%.

For railroad rolling stock manufacturing, 33% of value-added is attributed to direct exports and 10% of value-added is attributed to indirect exports for a total of 42%.

For motor vehicle body and trailer manufacturing, 38% of value-added is attributed to direct exports and 2% of value-added is attributed to indirect exports for a total of 40%.

For other transportation equipment manufacturing, 14% of value-added is attributed to direct exports and 8% of value-added is attributed to indirect exports for a total of 22%.

For ship and boat building, 10% of value-added is attributed to direct exports and 3% of value-added is attributed to indirect exports for a total of 13%.

Note: The sum of the shares of value-added attributed to direct exports and the share of value-added attributed to indirect exports may not equal to the total share of value-added attributed to foreign demand due to rounding.
