  • Asterisk denotes a statistically significant difference (p less than 0.05) between the specified household income quintile and the first (lowest) household income quintile for children and youth with and without a regular healthcare provider.
  • The income quintile variable is derived based on the before-tax family income from the most recent tax records available (2022 for the 2023 cycle). The adjusted income is calculated as the family income dived by the square root of the family size. All records are ranked from lowest to highest according to the value of adjusted income and then divided into five groups, called quintiles. The quintiles are derived at the national level (excluding the territories).
