Released: 2024-11-28
Today, Statistics Canada is publishing "Workforce insights: Demographics in the arts, entertainment and recreation sector from 2015 to 2023," the first of a three-study series. This paper explores the demographic differences among employees in the performing arts industries, spectator sports and related industries, and amusement and recreation industries by leveraging administrative data to examine the workforce distribution by gender, age and full-time work status. Results show that systemic trends vary by industry, with little variation across the years studied.
Results for the motion picture, video and sound recording industries will be released on December 18, 2024, and results for the publishing industries will be released on January 9, 2025.
